There is very often a requirement to blacken only parts or spots or to blacken under refurbishing and repair conditions. In this case we offer the blackening cream NU-BLAK® No. 182.
The cream is not aggressive and of no harm to persons or environment.(However, do not swallow or similar and keep out of reach of children)
Blacking Process:
Use the chemicals only as delivered. Ensure that the spots where you wish to blacken are free from grease, scale or rust. Use NU-BLAK® Degreaser No. 17 or acetone. In any case a physically or chemically clean surface is necessary! If the parts are covered by rust you must pickle or peen.
1. Apply the degreaser NU-BLAK® No.17 to the spot where you wish to degrease. Wait a bit.
2. Take the degreaser away with a clean and wet cloth.
3. Apply with a clean and wet cloth gently the cream onto the spot. Wait for about 5-10 minutes until the colour changes into dull black. Sometimes a repeat action is necessary.
4. Dispose the cream with a clean, wet cloth or with running water. Dry with a cloth.
5. Spray the dewatering oil to the blackened spot.
6. Do not rub strongly but if necessary wipe gently the surplus oil away.
7. Allow the oil to air dry within a period of about 30 minutes.
8. Your blackened part is ready.
